Queen Elizabeth I & II Memorial
In 1979, for an event in Marin County honoring Sir Francis Drake in Nova Albion, Gino Schiavone was asked to design & etch a piece of tribute art for the occasion, with Queen Elizabeth I and Queen Elizabeth II on one piece. Generating the profile of QE I from her death mask and using 1979 photographs of QE II, Gino created this amazing artwork.
After the recent death of Queen Elizabeth II, Gino revived his artwork and updated this pairing, re-using his wonderful creation to make a special memorial piece for our two Queens; The Elizabethan Queen we honor at the Renaissance Faire and the recently departed Queen of England, Royal Matriarch of our Current Era.
